Wellness Roundup...happenings and updates from the PWC

Contributed by: Tammy Arishenkoff, Media Coordinator

With Fall in full swing and Thanksgiving weekend behind us, it’s the perfect time to let you know all that has happened, and all that is going on, here at the PWC.

End of Summer Gala 2022

As you may already know, the End of Summer Gala has been rescheduled to take place on March 26th, 2022 due to all of the fluid changes around COVID-19 health orders. Information and tickets can be found on our website:

Christmas Craft Fair is Back!

We are pleased to announce that tables for the Christmas Craft Fair taking place on Saturday, November 27th are now SOLD OUT!! This year’s event will be a welcome return to the community bringing some much needed festive joy to all!

Thanksgiving Dinner Gobbled Up

Staff and volunteers served up 67 Thanksgiving dinners to people in our community on October 11th. A HUGE thank you to our young volunteers for taking the time to give back in a big way and show us what the true meaning of Thanksgiving is all about!

Seeking Volunteers at the Volunteer Fair

On September 18th, our Volunteer Coordinator, Bev Andrews along with our lovely helpers Robyn and Jase, represented the PWC in grand style at the Volunteer Fair held in Kelowna. The tent and table set up looked great and situated outside in a good spot with tons of visibility. A few folks stopped by to learn about the volunteer opportunities we offer and what the PWC is all about. As you can imagine, COVID had a huge impact on our programs and services, meaning many of our outstanding volunteers were sidelined. As things open up more and more, our need for volunteers is HUGE as we look to restart popular programs like the Sunday Breakfast - which cannot take place without the help of volunteers!

If you are interested in learning more about our volunteer opportunities, or have passion for something we don’t offer, please contact us by filling out our Volunteer Application on our website.

Better at Home Service - More Spots Open for Light Housekeeping

Great news abounds with the availability within our Better at Home Service to bring on more individuals needing assistance with light housekeeping. The safety and well-being of program participants is always the most important factor - and what’s nicer than a clean house!

To find our more about this program, call and speak with either Linda or Teri Monday to Friday between 9:00am and 3:00pm (250) 767-0141
